I’m martell lindsay

I’m an award-nominated screenwriter, musician, and community organiser from the East End of London, England.

I began my creative career as the frontman and principal songwriter of the punk-rap group Anti.Net, performing at squat raves and D.I.Y. shows before touring the UK and Europe and appearing at festivals including SXSW, Hoodstock, and Outbreak.

During this period, I undertook residencies at the Horniman Museum and ICA. In 2020, I joined the USB project, working on a feature film rooted in the underground music scene that shaped his early artistic life.

After co-writing the script, I continued collaborating with the USB team, writing five short films and an additional feature, several of which are currently in development. I later joined the MA Screenwriting programme at Goldsmiths, University of London, expanding my work across independent projects and ongoing USB collaborations.

I’ve received nominations for multiple awards and grants, including the Young Black Filmmakers Fund, Arts Council England support, and for a script development initiative with young people in my community, guiding them through writing and producing their own short films and helping nurture their creative voices.

My work focuses on class consciousness, often through the lens of subverted genre and satire.
